Perdana Botanical Garden: KL’s green escape in the city centre

Just minutes from the busy centre of Kuala Lumpur, the Perdana Botanical Garden is the city’s favourite green escape. Joggers come at dawn, families picnic by the lake, and visitors wander between orchids and hibiscus before heading to the museums nearby.

What to see

  • The lake: the heart of the park, with paths all around and boats for hire.

  • Deer park: a quiet corner where you can spot small deer.
  • Walking and jogging trails: shaded loops popular with locals at sunrise.
  • Playgrounds: good for families with young children.

  • National Monument
  • National Mosque
  • Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia
